Testing and Verifying Center for China Ship Materials, subordinated to CSIC Luoyang Ship Material Research Institute (LSMRI), is the testing and verifying center specializing in ship materials authorized by CCS at home. And also is the China Shipbuilding Industry ship materials technology centre authorized by CMA and CNAS. It holds the certification of National Defense Metrology Accreditation of the State Commission of Science and Technology for National Defense Industry.
The center has over 120 employees including 14 research fellow, 30-odd senior titles, 40-odd mid-level title. The center has several discipline leaders in the field of failure analysis of engineering equipment, safe life evaluation, physical and chemical properties analysis, material corrosion fatigue properties and with material science master's degree, doctor’s degree awarding powers.
The center has a laboratory for more than 12,000 square meters and 30,000 square meters for marine experiments, with a series of large-scale and completed physical and chemical testing equipment more than 300 sets with total assets of nearly 200 million RMB, has ability to undertake the physical and chemical properties testing for ferrous, non-ferrous and its products, microstructure, corrosion and protection, failure analysis, safety evaluation and so on.
For many years, the center holds the service philosophy of “Science, Just, Authority and Efficient” and trying to create a “one-stop” inspection service platform and provide comprehensive quality solutions for the customers. It serves in various industries and fields such as shipbuilding, marine engineering, petrochemical industry, metallurgy, electricity, rail transportation, automotive, judicial authentication etc.
Chemical Analysis and Testing
Professional engaged in chemical composition analysis and testing of metallic material and non metallic material. And have a solid theoretical foundation for practice of experienced professional and technical team, mainly carries on the research of new technology, relevant standards development and chemical instrument calibration. In the field of the ferrous metal and alloys, nonferrous metal and alloy, pure metals, precious metals and other materials, chemical composition analysis has the advantage of leading technology. In addition, micro-trace analysis and spectral analysis have reached the advanced level in the word, many times through the laboratory proficiency with outstanding achievements.

Combined with the actual operating conditions of materials and structures in various corrosive environments, it can carry out the stress corrosion, corrosion fatigue test and evaluation, crack propagation behavior in the electrochemical environment and corrosion resistant steel of the ship ballast tanks and cargo tanks performance evaluation. Now, it has established a comprehensive performance evaluation system in the field of steel, aluminum alloy, titanium alloy, which can provide decision basis for the device select material and protection scheme design.
