Luoyang Ship Material Research Institute (LSMRI), was founded in 1961 in Beijing and moved to an ancient and famous city--Luoyang in 1971. LSMRI is a comprehensive institution that focuses on the R&D and application of shipbuilding materials.

 

During the glorious sixty years, LSMRI has developed into a comprehensive institute with 9 research departments, 9 holding companies, 4 national testing centers and 4 sea environment testing centers. LSMRI has spread out branches in Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao, Xiamen, Dongguan, Sanya and so on. An innovative management system named as “One institute - Two managing systems” was implemented by LSMRI. The institute focuses on the R&D and the SUNRUI Group focuses on the industrial production and application. SUNRUI was nominated “The Most Competitive Brand” in China.

Brief Introduction

Testing Inspection and Calibrating Technology Center holds the certificates of CNAS, CCS and NADCAP. The center has 120 employees including 14 research fellow and 30 senior titles. The center has a laboratory with more than 12,000 square meters and 30,000 square meters for marine experiments, equipped with more than 300 sets by total assets of nearly 200 million RMB. The center has ability to undertake material testing and analysis, comprehensive environmental reliability test and on-site technical service.

Combined with the actual operating conditions of materials and structures in various corrosive environments, it can carry out the stress corrosion, corrosion fatigue test and evaluation, crack propagation behavior in the electrochemical environment and corrosion resistant steel of the ship ballast tanks and cargo tanks performance evaluation. Now, it has established a comprehensive performance evaluation system in the field of steel, aluminum alloy, titanium alloy, which can provide decision basis for the device select material and protection scheme design.
